Rearranging Your Home to Make Being Green Easier…
Sometimes it’s the smallest, most insignificant things that get in the way of our good intentions. Most of us want to lead healthier lives and do our part in protecting our planet. So why, when we learn that making small changes could help us accomplish those goals, don’t we? If you’re honest with yourself—it’s probably because in this busy, harried world we all live in if it isn’t easy, and I mean really easy, we don’t have the time or the energy to change our routine or go that extra mile. Live With What You Love

One of the most effective things you can do to create a home that nourishes and inspires you is to live with things you love. This may sound obvious, but when you take a close look around your home, you might be surprised to find that you’re living with things that bring your energy down rather than inspire and lift you up. It’s amazing how easy it is to tune out to our surroundings and stop really seeing the stuff in our homes that get in our way, drain our energy, or in some way make us feel badly. Sometimes it’s little things such as a half-broken toaster that frustrates and slows us down each morning, or the sharp edge of a table that we regularly bump against. Or it could be something more significant like sleeping in a bed we bought with a former partner that continually brings up memories and keeps us stuck in the past. These things can nag at us, deplete our energy, and wear on our self-esteem. The one place we should always feel loved, inspired, peaceful, and ‘at home’ – is at home! (more…)

Clearing Your Inner Clutter

Inner clutter is our running to-do list, unfinished business, unresolved issues or relationships, and/or any thoughts or feelings that repeatedly come up that weigh on our minds. This includes thoughts about the meaning of our life to thoughts about mundane tasks like replacing a light bulb and everything in between. In the same way physical clutter can prevent us from experiencing a peaceful home, our inner clutter can prevent us from experiencing peace of mind. (more…)
